Husam CHAYA works in different mediums, and his work is emerging from his strong artistic, creative and classically trained roots. His education started with a BA in Fine Arts from Beirut where he also studied Graphic Design. He has a Masters in Fine Arts from Paris.
His artisttic career explores the limits and challenges the unknown. His works have been featured in many exhibitions throughout Beirut, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi; and have commissioned a number of pieces to Los Angeles, Michigan, Pinamar, Istanbul and Changchun.
In 2003 CHAYA was recognized and awarded the 'Golden Award' from the French Embassy of Beirut, and in 2004 he was awarded the YDP award. One of his most exquisite sculptures "Fusion" was selected in 2003 as the monument for the United Nations (ESCWA) building located in Beirut.
From early in 2005, CHAYA decided to move to UAE whereby he was involved in participating, coordinating and overseeing numerous symposiums including ADISS - Abu Dhabi International Sculpture Symposium.
The fluidity and sharpness his designs is seeing wrapped around each of his art works. Best described as 'shapes encouraging wind to whistle through the curves and chasms to create a kind of sculptural music'. His latest commission invovled an interactive art work that involves the viewer and his/her echo through a stainless steel installation produced for Changchun city of China.
